Deriving its name from an archaic word for cricket bat blade, yet emblazoned with the sleekest, pure silver labelling the Pod balances craftsmanship and tradition with high end design. Engineered through exacting machining, Salix's unique custom built press, extraordinary handmaking and the finest of finishing, this bat really is special. The new press allows pressure to be applied throughout the bat's manufacture, building performance gradually. The deep bow is offset by our unique handle setting which creates greater control and a more logical line. The result is a bat which undulates in form, more sculpture than carpentry. But its purpose is to play, and it will play beautifully.  

Unique in the market, the Harrow and Size Six are handmade entirely from the cleft by Salix and have limited availability during the season as they are the most labour intensive bats in our manufacturing process.
 

Derived from Latin for wild beast, this is a true beast of a blade tamed by very skilful bat making. Complex sanding processes create both the profile and finish which is a reworking of the classic Venom shape, now grooved out in the base of the blade to create lightness whilst retaining power in the elongated sweetspot and substantial edges. Heavier weights will retain the triangular toe whilst lighter Feras will have wood removed at the toe, either of which can also be stipulated when ordering. Like the Præstantia, the Fera is only available in Grade One due to the intensive nature of its manufacture – we know we will not be able to make enough of these. Available in natural finish or workshop prepared.
