The UK cricket season is just about to get underway, weather permitting of course. It’s perhaps the most exciting time of year. The cricketing wilderness we call winter is finally coming to a close (it just hasn’t informed the weather yet) and the cricket field brings a wind of hope, optimism and excitement.
You may have blown off the cobwebs in early-season net practice or you may not have bowled a cricket ball or deployed a cover-drive in anger over the past eight months. But remember this: Form is temporary. Class is permanent.
Although some say dross is permanent also!
Whatever your goals for the cricket season, from both an individual and team perspective, we hope your campaign gets off to a flyer.
You may be all sorted for the new season – if so, good on you. But as and when you need new gear, be sure to visit Cricket Direct this summer – your home of the very finest cricket equipment online.
And here’s a thumbnail checklist. Have you …
Oiled and re-taped your bat?
Replaced your bat grip?
Checked that your gloves have ample grip?
Got a base layer jumper, slipover and thick socks for those breezy early-season games?
Got cricket shoes with prominent spikes?
Washed your whites since last season?!
Got adequate protection, especially if you are moving up a level?
Got sunglasses and a cricket cap?
If you think you’ve seen every 2016 cricket bat we have to offer, think again. Just this week, we’ve added the classy Newbery Quantum Cricket Bat and the vibrant Puma Tricks Cricket Bat to our online cricket store.
And if you turn up at your cricket ground tomorrow and it’s looking a little worse for wear, we’ve also got a host of cricket ground equipment and cricket training aids to boost your facilities, warm-ups and catching drills.
Go well – and let’s hope that rain stays away this weekend.
